Still Life
For these 2 shoots, I used the light box as the background to give a very bright white background. I put a piece of plastic on the table and put the objects on this to give a reflection of the objects. I purposely positioned the light into the lens of the film camera to give off light inside it, I believe that this draws in the viewer and makes them look and not stop looking at the picture because they are interested in it, The first lot of pictures with the camera are very good photo's because there is a contrast in the texture, for example the rough plastic grip of the camera compared to the cold smooth metal at the top of the camera. Although most of this is monochrome there is a bit of colour in the lens which stands out in the image. The reflective part at the bottom of the camera really impacts the picture and makes people want to keep looking. It is a very crisp and clean photo and everything is in excellent focus and this makes the picture so much better. This photo is the only still life shoot which will be in a high key setup while the others will be in a low key setup. This photograph was at first too bright and it was too overexposed so I had to edit the picture and change the setup to get the pictures I have now. The second part of this shoot was the last two pictures below. This 3 lenses where the second part of the shoot and I do not like them that much. I think they are way too overexposed and I do not like the reflection within the lenses and these are the best two out of 10 photographs. The photos are not positioned correctly and is not centre which I do not like about the photo. The first part of this shoot was much better than the second part.
For this shoot I used a black background with a black sheet to cover the table, and I only used one light. - I did this for the harsh shadows that come from it. I focused on the old torn up book because I enjoyed the way it gave off an olden feel to the images.
I used this and focused on the olden feel off different objects. I edited some of these photographs within Photoshop and added a film layer over some of the photographs. These photographs/this shoot is my favourite throughout all of the shoots I have done, this is mainly most of the photographs are in focus. The record is out of place within this shoot and if I was to redo it, I would remove this from my shoot. Next time I do this shoot I want to recreate it with candle light with the pieces of paper to feel like this picture was taken in the past. The use of the candle light would impact this image a lot and would show the differences within using light from bulbs and using candle light which would show an eerie look to the photos. I did not use monochrome in this shoot because I wanted the colour and shadows to give the viewer an impact of emotion and enjoy the past. This contributes to my personal theme for old vs new since it shows what Olden cameras would do using Photoshop and filters compared to modern day cameras.

For this shoot, I used a low key setup. A black background and a black cloth to put on the table to cover it up. I found a book in the props that looked very old, with marks on the inside of the book and this was one of my main subjects to photograph. I also found
