Robert Capa
Robert Capa was a photographer who took pictures doing World War 2, he photographed life during the war and some of the most devastating battles during the war such as D Day. He mainly used a Leica 35mm camera and during WW2 and after he used a Contax brand camera, he went round during WW2 and photographed the men and the situations throughout the war. He took many photos and the best and the ones I believe are the ones below. They are all great photos and show the side of war most people do not see. My favourite photo from all of the ones below is the last photo, the reason this is my favourite photo, this photograph does not have good focus without the photo and most of not is blurry, but this is the reason why I like the photo, it makes the viewer think why is this one blurry, and why are the men running? It makes the viewer question the photo and keeps them glued to the photo. The tone in this is not different, there are not a lot of light tones and dark tones, there are more mid tones and this is the only problem I have with the photograph, I believe that if there where more drastic comparisons it would effect the photograph in a good way, it would give the photograph more character and would add that extra layer to the photograph. This photograph gives many different emotions, you are happy with the scenery since the background is calm and very beautiful but when you look at the men you become a bit worried and anxiety, this is because you do not know why they are running, but there might be other interpretations of the photograph and this is why I enjoy it. He uses natural light and does not use any studio lights, since this photo is blurry there is a bit of harsh light within this photograph, on the men's face and the shadow under the tree, this may be interpreted in a different way but I enjoy this, I think it adds something to the photograph, it gives it an extra feeling to the photograph. I wish to recreate his photos but change little details that I did not like, I will try to get to a open land area and recreate this.
