Irving Penn was a photographer during the 1900's and the beginning of the 2000's. He was a photographer who photographed a range of different things but was known for his fashion, portraits and his still life photography. He passed away in October 2009. He was a very influential photographer and had major influence in photographers, for example Cindy Sherman. He had photographed many objects and people during his time of working but these pictures below are some of my favourite. Each one of these photographs have something that is unique and makes them special to look at compared to his other photos. My favourite from below is picture number two. The animal skull is my favourite picture from the four below. This is due to the shadows emitted within the skull and the overall look off the skull, it looks prehistoric or not a real animal skull it looks to be fake but it is very realistic at the same time. I enjoy the different shading on the school with some of the spots being darker than others and I think this makes the image stand out. There is many comparisons/differences within this photograph such as the tones and the difference within light. There is a lot of hard hitting light tones and dark tones within this image which impacts the image in a good way, it makes the person contemplate about the image and why some places are very dark and other places are very light. This photograph makes the viewer think about the shape of the skull and makes them think is this real or not which is very good for a photograph to do since the person will not stop thinking about it/viewing the photograph.
